STRAIGHT FROM A STORYBOOK……
Rita & Jason
“As they watched this scene together, their love grew for each other, more than ever before.”
Down on the wharf in Pyrmont, where Rita and Jason had shared their first kiss some time ago, he presented her with a storybook titled ‘Princess Rita’.
With a 6 and a half year journey based on Jason & Rita’s time together as best of friends to a loving couple, the storybook featured pictures of their sentimental moments, places they visited and personal quotes.
One page in the book mentioned a scene from Rita’s favourite TV show, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Rita and Jason were watching the scene where Monica exchanged vows with Chandler and the
words struck a chord: “You are the person I was meant to spend my life with for so long I wondered if I would ever find my prince, my soul mate. Then three years ago I turned to a friend for comfort. I found everything that I had been looking for my whole life. And now here we are with our future before us and I only want to spend it with you my prince, my soul mate, my friend.”
As they watched this scene together, Rita says, their love grew for each other, more than ever before. On the last page was a panoramic image of the wharf which surrounded them, which read “Then Jason asked Rita a momentous question”. It was at this point, that Jason held the ring and asked Rita to marry him.
The book may have finished, but the fairy tale didn’t end there. Jason had organised a private boat to escort the couple to the secluded Clarke Island on the harbour and arranged a picnic consisting of Rita’s favourite foods, desserts and beverages. The couple spent the day doing one of their favourite hobbies –fishing and enjoying the serenity.
When prince charming took his princess back home from their beautiful and romantic day, there was a sweet surprise awaiting Rita – a 10kg block of Pure Cadbury Chocolate attached with a rose and heart key!
They ended the night with an exquisite seafood banquet dinner followed by celebrating the good news with their families.
happily ever after:
They happily celebrated thier fairytale wedding in early February of 2011. The ceremony was held at St George Cathedral, Redfern followed by a party-filled celebration at the Albert Palais Leichhardt with our 350 guests.
The couple spent four and a half weeks on their honeymoon to Florida and South America. Started in Argentina, Uruguay, Miami, 7 Day Oasis of the Seas Carribbean cruise (Mexico and Haiti), Orlanda (DisneyWorld), Brazil (Rio Carnivale) and Peru (Inca Trail to Machu Pichu).
Rita’s own ending to her fairy tale storybook:
“We are blessed with such beautiful, warm and loving family and friends in our lives. Jason and I are grateful of their presence, love and support. We have been happily married for almost a year and a half now and will be celebrating this in Europe. We hope to bring our little angels into the world in the coming years and cannot wait for the decades to come not just as husband and wife, but as Mummy and Daddy! (and one day grandparents of course!)”
