love is in the air

Alyssa & Konrad
4th of October, 2009 – Sydney, Australia.

“I researched different suppliers using the ABIA website to find the best in the industry and then narrowed down our options before making a final decision.”

the proposal:

“Konrad had always told Alyssa that he would not propose on a special occasion, so when he told her he had a surprise planned for their one year anniversary, she was not expecting his proposal! “I was whisked away to Sydney airport where our private helicopter was waiting to take us on a romantic sunset flight over Sydney Harbour. As I was enjoying the sights I realised that the helicopter was hovering over Sydney Harbour Bridge and in my heart I knew that was the moment that Konrad would propose! To make the proposal even more romantic, Konrad gave me a gorgeous engagement ring that he designed himself” said Alyssa.

selecting the right suppliers:

“Throughout their engagement Alyssa immersed herself in all the Wedding details and was a very happy Bride to have Konrad’s involvement and support in making all the decisions! She said “As there were so many overwhelming options, I researched different suppliers using the ABIA website to find the best in the industry and then narrowed down our options before making a final decision. I knew of the ABIA site as I used to work in the events industry and had heard of ABIA through Wedding and Events Expos. Konrad and I are both pretty fussy with high expectations, and I knew that the ABIA finalists and winners would be reputable and a good place to start”.

“They met with at least two or three suppliers for all major decisions and were confident in all of their final choices. Alyssa chose a beautiful Maggie Sottero wedding gown from the fantastic selection at DresSense, Miranda. Her shoes matched the gown beautifully and were chosen from the extensive range available at Panache, Sydney.

do it yourself:

“They opted to make the invitations, Order of Service booklets, place cards and bonbonniere themselves and were very happy with how the invitations, embellished with lace and ribbon, set the tone for their “classic” wedding. They continued the classic theme by choosing floral arrangements of white roses complemented by an elegant black colour theme for the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen.

the wedding day:

“The Ceremony was held at St Brigid’s Catholic Church in Coogee on 4th October 2009. Torrential rain had been threatening the celebrations all morning, however upon arriving at the Church the rain stopped and the skies cleared! “Our ceremony was very special as the Priest allowed us to personalise the readings, prayers and music. One of the most memorable moments of our Ceremony was after the formalities as we listened to a beautiful rendition of ‘Ave Maria’, sung by one of our best friends” said Alyssa.
