The Australian Bridal Industry Academy was founded in 1997 as a National Industry Authority designed to distinguish quality wedding suppliers as determined by brides. Since then ABIA have assisted almost 50,000 brides to select the best suppliers from a total of 36,000 wedding suppliers.
The ABIA Accreditation program is open to all wedding suppliers who demonstrate a high standard of quality and service. ABIA gathers feedback from brides about suppliers - referred to as the 'Bridal Rating' - and uses this as the basis of the ABIA Accreditation Program.
Initial 'Appointment' into the ABIA Accreditation Program requires at least one bridal rating of 90% or above. Once 'Appointed', the business then undertakes to gain official membership of ABIA. This requires a minimum of 5 bridal ratings, each over 90%, within a 12 month period.
Further levels of accreditation are then possible by meeting the standards required.
